WiiM — Our recommendation
Add a WiiM Mini or WiiM Pro to any uStream speaker via the 3.5mm aux input and you unlock the full smart home experience — synchronised playback in every room, hi-res audio up to 24-bit/192kHz, AirPlay 2 from any Apple device, and Spotify Connect.
Because WiiM connects via the aux input rather than Bluetooth, it bypasses the inherent limitations of Bluetooth
audio and delivers lossless quality directly to your uStream speaker.
Synchronised multi-room
Every WiiM-connected uStream plays the same track at exactly the same time. One source, every room, perfectly in sync — and entirely wireless. No cables between any component in the chain.
Hi-res audio up to 24-bit / 192kHz
Streams Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music HD, and Apple Music lossless. Bluetooth cannot carry this — WiiM delivers it via the aux input without compression.
AirPlay 2 from any Apple device
Your uStream appears as an AirPlay 2 device in every compatible app on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Spotify, Apple Music, Podcasts — all work natively.
Spotify Connect built in
Control playback from your phone without keeping it connected. The WiiM streams independently once you hit play — your phone is just the remote.
WiiM is a third-party product sold separately. Compatible with all uStream bookshelf speakers via 3.5mm aux input. uStream One, Two and Three also accept WiiM via RCA input.
Amazon Alexa
Voice control. Room by room.
Set any uStream speaker as the default Bluetooth playback device for an Amazon Echo and every Alexa request in that room — music, radio, podcasts — plays through your uStream in proper stereo.
With multiple Echoes across the house, each paired to its own uStream, you can ask for different tracks in different rooms simultaneously. Kitchen plays jazz. Living room plays a podcast. Each Echo controls its own uStream independently.
"Alexa, play jazz in the kitchen." That's the whole interaction.
Via Bluetooth, each room operates independently — no multi-room sync. Connect your Echo to a uStream speaker via 3.5mm aux cable instead and it joins Alexa's multi-room music groups for synchronised playback. WiiM achieves the same wirelessly.
Google Home
Works with every Google Nest device.
uStream speakers pair to Google Nest Mini, Nest Audio, and Nest Hub as Bluetooth speakers. Set as default and Google Assistant routes all playback — YouTube Music, Spotify, podcasts, radio — through your uStream in that room.
With a Nest in each room paired to its own uStream, you can ask for different tracks in different rooms. Each room is independent, each controlled by voice.
Via Bluetooth, each room operates independently — no multi-room sync. Connect your Nest device to a uStream speaker via 3.5mm
aux cable instead and it joins Google's multi-room audio groups for synchronised playback. WiiM achieves the same wirelessly. No
subscription required for smart home pairing.
Which solution is right for you
Kitchen
The uStream Cube
Compact enough for a worktop. Loud enough to fill the room. Ask Alexa or Google for music without touching anything. Add WiiM to bring it into a synchronised whole-home system.
Living Room
The uStream Two or Three
Place one either side of the television. Connect to the TV via HDMI ARC for film and music. Add WiiM for hi-res streaming and whole-home sync. Voice control via Alexa or Google for everything else.
Bedroom
The uStream One
Morning alarm through Alexa. Spotify before sleep. The uStream One delivers proper two-way stereo from a bookshelf speaker — without overpowering a room that doesn't need it.
Garden / Anywhere
The uStream Go
30 hours of battery. Place the speakers up to 15 feet apart. Works with Alexa and Google Home indoors, and stands alone as a self-contained stereo system outdoors. No Wi-Fi required.
